1. Industrial
Companies involved in industrial operations or any other form of production activity are granted an industrial license in Dubai. Under industrial licenses, a UAE national (local partner) owns 51% of the company's shares, and a foreign owner owns the remaining 49%.
2. Commercial
A Limited Liability Company (LLC), the most popular type of legal company, is awarded a commercial license in Dubai for businesses with foreign ownership. A UAE national (local partner) owns 51% of the company's shares, while a foreign investor, who also holds business licenses, owns 49%.
3. Professional
For non-physical services like consulting, a professional license in Dubai is required. Currently, professional licenses will only be held by foreign nationals. A national of the UAE must be designated as a "Local Service Representative" or "Local Sponsor," nevertheless.
4. Craftsmanship
People who independently create crafts and other artisanal works for profit are granted licenses in the craft. Craftsmanship permits can be obtained for a variety of activities, including carpentry, blacksmithing, printing, and more.
5. Agricultural
Owners of arable land are given permission to use it for fishing, raising livestock, and cultivating crops.
6. Tourism
Owners of tourism-related establishments, such as travel agencies, hotels, resorts, restaurants, cruise ship rentals, tourist camps, etc., are awarded tourism licenses.
